STRUCTURE FIRE, CEMETARY ROAD, CAPE VINCENT
Date01/01/00 Depauville firefighters responded on a second alarm on this incident. Cape Vincent's chief called for the second before arrival on the scene based on information relayed from the caller through dispatch. First arriving units found the single family home fully involved. Cause was laid to a Christmas tree and a kerosene heater.

SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY MVA, COUNTY ROUTE 11
Date01/07/00 Depauville Fire and EMS, along with Clayton's ambulance and heavy rescue, responded to this serious incident over slushy roads. A 17YO driver had lost control in the slush, spun, and struck a pole at the left rear of the vehicle. Extrication took 38 minutes. Lafargeville's ambulance was called for an additional medic and to transport the 17YO passenger. Despite an outstanding effort by all involved, the driver succumbed to her injuries two days later.

STRUCTURE FIRE, CR 181, LAFARGEVILLE
Date01/10/00 Depauville firefighters responded on an automatic with LaFargeville to a 20x30 barn. A quick knockdown by LA firefighters confined the fire to the rear of the structure. Depauville, Clayton, and Fishers Landing assisted with overhaul.

PROPERTY DAMAGE MVA, COUNTY ROUTE 9
Date01/01/00 Depauville Fire and EMS, along with Clayton's ambulance and heavy rescue, responded to a report of an unknown injury MVA - car in a ditch on a sharp curve. While responders were enroute, two other vehicles also found either the ditch or the guardrail, and a fourth went in the ditch after arrival of 16-1-1 and a Sheriffs patrol. Despite temperatures in low 40's, black ice had formed on the road. There were no reported injuries, and a Town of Clayton snowplow sanded the area shortly thereafter. The ambulance and rescue were cancelled.

SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY MVA, NYS 12E, CLAYTON
Date01/26/00 Depauville personnel responded mutual aid to Clayton on a serious two car head-on MVA. A vehicle occupied by two teens lost control in slush and crossed into the path of an oncoming car. The teens vehicle was struck on the passenger side, killing the passenger instantly. The 17YO victim was the survivor of the January 7th accident (see above) that killed her best friend.
